Wildlife Tours India

India is second to none when comes to natural heritage. There are very few places on earth that can match India’s richness. India is a land that has history of man and animal coexisting in perfect harmony not just now but for thousands of years and reference to different animals being mount to various gods and goddess is testimony of the same. Though the Tiger the apex predator of India has always been focal point of wildlife activities here, India’s wilderness story goes much beyond it. India boasts of almost 8% of the total mammals found in the world. This includes rarities like Snow Leopard, Red Panda, Clouded Leopard etc.

The wildlife experience in India is very different from that of Africa – unlike the animal’s forage in open savannas in Africa, in India one has to track them in the dense forests which makes game viewing more involving. Since one gets involved in the process of tracking the Indian wildlife it keeps one’s enthusiasm alive and makes the experience more fulfilling. Be it stalking tigers in the jungles of Central India or peeping through the Elephant grass in the savannas in Kaziranga for Rhinos or gailing on the elephant back on the forest of Corbett or trekking on the ridges of Singalila looking for the elusive Red Panda you are an active participant, not just a bystander.

You just can’t resist India if you are a bird lover – it undoubtedly is a birder’s paradise. Over 1400 species of birds are recorded in India is about 14% of total world’s bird population and 141 of them are endemic to the region. Varied climatic conditions and a large habitats diversity has contributed to India supporting 20 of 27 orders and 77 of 155 families of avifauna.

Rediscovery of bird species like Jerdon’s Courser, White Winged Wood Duck, Bugun Liocichla which were thought to be extinct is clear indication that many more new chapters are to be added in Indian ornithology in days to come.
